Basically, Sanbot is a machine-learning, open API robot: and it's awesome. Sanbot can be used as a greater, traveling the mall and interacting with customers. When a human does this, it can be annoying at times. When a cute penguin-robot does this, it's a novel experience that the customer will remember and mention to friends. Sanbot also can be used to provide help and information to shoppers, like a mobile help-desk.

Not only is Sanbot more effective than help-desks, but it's also cheaper when labor costs are factored in. Thanks to Sanbot's voice recognition software, Sanbot will approach anyone who asks it for help. From there, customers can either ask the robot questions vocally or interact with the map on its screen (with a moving you are here arrow). Sanbot can also be used as a promoter, giving out coupons for different stores and informing customers of different events.

Sanbot also makes use of facial recognition software to gather data about mall activity, providing useful analytics. For example, Sanbot might notice that people who visit a certain store are 40% more likely to visit the food court. This facial recognition software can also be applied to security. Sanbot can detect shoplifting as it happens and track the shoplifter, allowing human security to respond more effectively. After shoplifters have been apprehended, Sanbot can help enforce a blacklist of shoplifters in order to keep the mall safe. This can save costs on extra CCTV cameras and security.
